The hub of the Heights for over 65 years
Frank's has been proud to serve the residents of uptown Manhattan since 1948. A German refugee named Ziggy Frank opened his small butcher shop on 187th Street after World War II. He provided prime meats and gourmet items to the local residents of "Frankfurt-on-the-Hudson" that reminded them of the old country. In 1976, Robert Masick, one of Ziggy's long time employees took over the business. He kept the store on 187th street and upheld Ziggy's standards of quality and service.
In 1989 Frank McHugh and William Rodriguez, two butchers who had worked and learned their trade at Frank's since their teens, bought the business from Masick, and kept the tradition of Frank's alive. Their mission was to continue to provide the highest quality cuts of meat, game, cheeses and cold cuts at reasonable prices.

As the neighborhood changed, Frank's Market changed.
Over the years it evolved from a small neighborhood butcher into premier gourmet shop of Washington Heights to meet the needs and desires of its evolving clientele.
In December of 2000, Frank's moved to a larger location, two doors down the street, and expanded again in 2005 to it's present size and layout.
While they still provide the highest quality organic meats and game, their cheese department boasts over 30 varieties of old favorites to esoteric delicacies.
Frank's now has a full deli and catering department which features all types of cold cuts, to prepared foods and full meals made fresh that day by Frank's on-premise chef. Party planning and corporate events are their specialty.
Franks also stocks everything from organic produce, freshly made coffees and fresh pastry, to hard to find artisanal foods, breads and beverages.
